Olive oil growing on a plum tree? How bizarre!
I’ve been guilty of buying fabric and tucking it away until I forget about them. Well, since I had the time for a sewing project this afternoon, I decided to make something useful: a lined fabric bag I could use to take home groceries in (believe it or not I only have one canvas bag at home!).
I love the olive oil label print on this cotton fabric, so I used it as the exterior of the bag. Inside (I still don’t have that photo), I used oatmeal-colored calico cloth (just like the straps). I must give props to Skiptomylou whose step-by-step instructions on making a lined tote were spot-on (except for the “pinch the corners” bit, which I struggled with). Well, I finished it, and it is quite nice.
Time spent: Less than 2 hours at a very relaxing pace. To think I considered having a glass of vino while I sewed (that would have added at least 30 minutes). I highly recommend this project!
