How do you see yourself?
As I begin a week of selfies, I’d like to kick it off with one of me on my less-than-pretty days. Unwashed hair, check. No make up, check. Slight cold, check.
As you can see, my jaws are not the same size. Someone told me her eyes are “creepy”. Truth is, I drew this without lifting the pen off the paper. Surprisingly, though, this unpretty rendition of my self has a strange beauty to it.
My mother told me many years ago: “Your imperfections are what make you beautiful.”
But my sister Pinky looked at this and said, “I can see Miss Tapia.”
