My foray into drawing began in 2008 because I wanted to illustrate my own books. I began by drawing for charity. In 2010, I did a poster for InHerShoes, an annual charity event founded by my good friend, Simon Wong, who was inspired by his late wife, Peikie. I also illustrated for a A Summer’s Day of Nothing and Everything for Gawad Kalinga which was written by one of my favourite Singapore sisters, Noelle de Jesus Chua. I recently published Good Night, Lala — a children’s book of my mother’s stories which I edited and illustrated with sewn artworks (see above), and have been commissioned to draw for a traveler’s website and Smile magazine.
