Today’s selfie is of my feet. My boots, to be exact. I bought them four years ago in Singapore. They are by a brand called Fit Flops, known for their flip flops with a special heel that is like a “gym in a shoe” because it gives you a real workout while you walk. My boots are stubby-toed, not sleek. Almost Ugg-like in shape. A little too long for my short calves. But they are comfortable. Soooo comfortable that I’ve walked, ran, climbed, hiked, taught, danced, taken the bus, and even played Lazer tag in these babies.
To think I contemplated giving them away because of their less-than-stylish looks. Good thing I had the good sense to keep them. They are heavenly for my soles, and in my world, comfort trumps fashion all the time. (Okay, except when I have to wear a gown and heels).
